The Blue Marlin Grand Championship, known as The Greatest Show in Sportfishing, returns to The Wharf in Orange Beach July 14-18. The event is also the final leg of the Gulf Coast Triple Crown Championship. Ten teams still have an opportunity to win the championship and to be crowned the top sportfishing team in the Gulf Of Mexico for 2021.

After a scaled-back tournament in 2020 due to the pandemic, this year tournament officials, teams and spectators are all excited for the return of the jumbo LED screen, smoke, light show, music and, of course, the flaming marlins on Main Street at The Wharf.

All teams will depart via Perdido Pass at noon Thursday, July 15, creating a must-see spectacle of sportfishing yachts just off the sandy shores of Orange Beach. Once the tournament begins, weigh-ins are free and open to the public Friday, July 16 and Saturday, July 17.

If a team boats a blue marlin Thursday, they will have the option to weigh their fish first thing Friday morning at a special ‘Early Bird’ weigh-in at 7 a.m. at The Wharf. Teams are required to inform tournament officials Thursday night if they will be bringing in a fish Friday morning.

Regular weigh-ins will take place Friday night from 5 – 7 p.m. All teams must return to The Wharf Saturday night for the final weigh-ins from 5-8 p.m. Tournament weigh-ins will be streamed live on the Blue Marlin Grand Championship website www.bluemarlingrandchampionship.com as well as on the tournament Facebook page.
