BAY MINETTE, Alabama — The City of Bay Minette distributed $5,715 to local girls’ teams and organizations based on the results of Ladies Night Out. The fall event's theme was “This One’s for the Girls.”

These organizations participated in Ladies Night Out by helping to sell raffle tickets for prizes donated by Standard Furniture and North Baldwin Utilities. Each participating organization received back 100 percent of the amount of raffle tickets they sold.

They included: BCHS Tigerettes, $750; BCHS Cheer Squads, $1,000; BCHS Ladies Golf, $265; BCHS Ladies Soccer, $160; BMMS Tiger Paws, $400; BMMS Girls Engaged in Math & Science, $600; Girl Scout Troop 8306, $300; and Chosen Youth Outreach, $200.

The city also selected the Heritage Junior Women’s Club to receive benefits from the event. HJWC received $1,540 from the admission fees paid to attend the event. These funds will be used to support Emily's Closet, a free prom boutique for area high school girls.

Sponsors for the event included WindCreek Hospitality, North Baldwin Utilities, Premier Medical Health and The First. More than 35 vendors took part in the event, which also included a fashion show, door prizes and other special activities. Plans are already underway for the Spring 2018 event.
