The Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. William G. "Bill" Sherr Sr., 70, of Gulf Shores, Alabama, who entered into rest April 13, 2017, will be conducted Friday morning at 11 o'clock from Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, Rev. Renaurd West celebrant.
Final prayers and commendation in Pineview Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Sherr was a native of North Augusta, having made Gulf Shores his home for the past 21 years. He was a 1964 graduate of North Augusta High School, attended Augusta College and was a communicant of St. Thomas by the Sea Catholic Church.
Mr. Sherr was the owner of Sherr's Quality Assurance Inc., a rail car inspection company, and was a member of the Houston Transportation Association as well as several other rail car associations.
He was the father of the late Tanya Louise Sherr.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Linda McCorkle Sherr; a son and his husband, William Sherr and Estevan Garcia, Brooklyn, New York; a daughter and her husband, Angela Sherr and R.J. Reissig, Richardson, Texas; five grandchildren, Jared Sherr-Garcia, Miles Sherr-Garcia, Bette Sherr-Garcia, Smith Reissig and Cooper Reissig.
Honorary pallbearer will be Bob Stevens.
Active pallbearers will be Jared Sherr-Garcia, Frank Whelchel, Billy Vaughan, Rob Zapata, Connie Boutwell and Rafael Garcia.
The Vigil Service for the Deceased will be conducted at the funeral home Thursday evening at 6 o'clock followed by visitation until 8.
