Woman charged with attempted murder, stalking after collision at Freeman’s

Posted

Foley Police Department responded to Freeman Collision on 225 E. Laurel Ave. at approximately 12:45 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 19.

Susan Kotkiewicz, 56, who has a history of stalking a male employee at Freeman Collision, was parked across the street in the State Farm parking lot. When she observed the male employee in the bay of Freeman Collision she proceeded to accelerate attempting to run over the male employee. As she rapidly accelerated crossing Cypress Street from the parking lot, she collided with a silver Camry, an unintended northbound vehicle. The Camry slammed into the building and the suspect's vehicle collided with a parked vehicle that was also pushed into the building. The intended male victim was unharmed.

The driver of the silver Camry was transported to South Baldwin Regional Medical Center (SBRMC) with serious injuries. From SBRMC, she was taken to Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola. Kotkiewicz was transported to USA Medical Center with serious injuries.

There was significant structural damage to the building as well as the vehicles involved.

Although the male employee wasn't injured, Kotkiewicz will be charged with attempted murder and stalking first. She will also be charged with assault first and reckless driving for the injuries incurred by the other driver.

This is an ongoing investigation.
