BAY MINETTE, Ala. -- Baldwin County High School had two more athletes sign scholarships to play sports at the next level. Football players Javis Atchison and Giovanni "Geno" Hayes will still be teammates as both inked deals with Dodge City Community College in Kansas.

Both Javis and Geno have been big playmakers for the Tigers. Over the past two season, Javis had 47 receptions for 860 yards and 10 touchdowns. In the 2018 season, Geno was credited with 69 tackles (47 solo and 22 assists), five tackles for loss, two interceptions and one defensive touchdown.

Coach Nathan McDaniel said Dodge City is getting two outstanding athletes and it will be a great launching pad for both players .

"I am extremely proud of both of these young men. It's an opportunity for them to further their education and to continue to play the game they love," McDaniel said. Following their two years at Dodge City, both players plan to reopen their recruitment opportunities. "I look forward to seeing where both of these guys end up in a few years. I thank both of them for their hard work and dedication to Baldwin County High School football."
