Foley woman dies in I-10 crash

LOXLEY, Alabama — A Foley woman was killed in a single-vehicle crash around noon Sunday, Aug. 18 on Interstate 10 just west of the Loxley exit.

According to a release issued Monday by the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), Janet R. Craft, 64, of Foley was transported to Thomas ER where she was pronounced dead.

According to the report, she was traveling westbound on Interstate 10 when her 2015 Lexus RX350 left the roadway and struck a tree. The incident occurred at around noon on Sunday, Aug. 18 at the 46-mile marker, just west of the Loxley exit.

Craft was using a seatbelt, according to the report. A 7-year-old was transported to another area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the report.

Alabama State Troopers are conducting an ongoing investigation.
