OSCEOLA, Arkansas — A Georgia man wanted in multiple states, including Alabama following a Jan. 28 incident in Baldwin County, was captured over the weekend in Arkansas.
According to reports, John James Shillibeer, 31, of Rome, Georgia, was the subject of a BCSO manhunt Jan. 28, running from deputies after crashing his car in the median near the 60-mile marker, seven miles east of the Wilcox Exit of I-10.
According to reports, a Sheriff’s deputy had pulled over a different car for a traffic violation when another vehicle, reportedly driven by Shillibeer, drove into the median into the wood line, jumped out of the car and ran.
Deputies said the Honda Civic belonged to a passenger in the car who also ran. According to Baldwin County Corrections Center records, Megan Allen, 27, also of Rome, Georgia, was booked at around 1 a.m. on Jan. 29, charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, second degree, misdemeanor attempt to elude, and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was released later that day on a $500 bond.
According to reports in January, Shillibeer was wanted on warrants out of Georgia, Oregon and Florida for theft and drug-related charges.
According to a social media post by the Sheriff’s Department on Saturday, Shillibeer was arrested that morning in Osceola, Arkansas. He was found in possession of a stolen car out of Memphis, Tennessee.
