BAY MINETTE, Alabama — A single vehicle crash at 1:05 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 9 on I-65 at mile marker 46 near Perdido has claimed the life of a Georgia woman, according to a release issued Wednesday by the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

Sven Michael Olsen, 58, of Marietta, Georgia, was driving northbound when, for unknown reasons, his 2004 Toyota Tundra left the roadway and struck a guardrail.

The sole passenger, Maire Caitlin Olsen, 26, also of Marietta, was not using a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle; she was pronounced dead at the scene.

No charges have been filed in connection with the crash. Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.
