Baldwin County Students study with Spanish Fort fire fighters


On Friday, Jan. 31, the Fire Science Program of South Baldwin Center for Technology traveled to Spanish Fort Fire Rescue Department to participate in a training exercise.


The students received instruction on forcible entry, ventilation practices, and the use of the various equipment needed to illuminate an emergency scene. Coach Stringfellow and the students of the Fire Science Program wanted to extend their gratitude and thanks to the Officers and Firefighters that took the time to share their knowledge with them; Captain Howard Popple, Lt. Chris Williams, Lt. Tim Cooper, FF Justin Krueger, and FF Joe McCleish.


Career and Technical Education Month, or CTE Month, is a public awareness campaign that takes place each February to celebrate the value of CTE and the achievements and accomplishments of CTE programs across the country.

The Baldwin County Public Schools Division of Career and Technical Education is focused on helping students achieve success through leadership development, career awareness, and academic excellence. This division provides support services to Baldwin County Career Technical Education teachers, administrators, and counselors through professional development that works to further K-12 student achievement and project-based learning.  Career Technical Education is offered in all eight high schools as elective courses, at two technical centers and is offered in all middle schools in Baldwin County.

Career Technical Education (CTE) programs are the foundation of the workforce.  CTE is focused on developing the 21st Century Skills and technical skills of 7-12 grade students and strives to prepare student for the transition to postsecondary learning and workforce opportunities.  It provides students essential leadership skills through participation in student organizations.  CTE is learning that makes Baldwin Proud!
