FOLEY, Alabama — Local husband and wife team Greg and Maegan Bratton are on a roll creating signature recipes as they rolled out their new ice cream concept, Cowbell Rolled Ice Cream last week at 3782 S. McKenzie St. in Foley.

"We start everyday by preparing our very own ice cream base and puréeing fresh berries so our customers can have the freshest ice cream in town," said Greg Bratton.

"The rolled ice cream concept is really fun and we make them to order right in front of you," said Maegan Bratton.

A grand opening was held Thursday, Sept. 27. The celebration began with a ribbon cutting by the Coastal Alabama Business Chamber, followed by free samples to the first 50 guests beginning at noon.

"As a family owned business we want our customers to feel like part of the Cowbell family," said Maegan Bratton.

Cowbell starts with a fresh sweet cream base that is poured over a frozen metal slab. Customers can choose what ingredients they want mixed in and then watch as it is rolled before their eyes.

In addition to the menu items like The Elvis, The Reaper, and Say "Cheese" Cake, they offer daily specials or you can build your own.

The Brattons also featured a special flavor at the Thursday Grand Opening, Queen’s Lemonade, based on the award-winning strawberry lemonade flavor “Queen’s Choice” developed by local students Alissa Hendricks and Jorja Carrino.

A portion of the sale of Queen’s Lemonade benefits the Alzheimer’s Foundation.
