Two arrested after teen shot at Fairhope Boys and Girls Club

FAIRHOPE – Fairhope police arrested two Mobile County teens after a 16-year-old was shot over the weekend during a late-night incident at the Boys and Girls Club.

Officers were called to the club at 19128 Young St. at about midnight Sunday after a report that shots had been fired. Police found a large group of people at the location for a planned event. Witnesses told officers that after a fight started at the location, they heard several shots fired, according to a police report.

A 16-year-old was taken to Thomas Hospital and treated for a gunshot wound. The teen had been shot during the fight at the club, the report said. The victim was treated and released from Thomas Hospital, police said.

Police arrested Alan David York, 18, of Prichard and Travon Deanthony Jackson, 19, of Mobile, in connection with the shooting. Both suspects were arrested at the club and taken to the Fairhope Police Department. During an interview, Jackson said he fired a gun into the air at the club.

He was charged with reckless endangerment. He was later released on bond.

York was charged with first-degree assault, reckless endangerment, and shooting into an occupied vehicle. He was being held in the Baldwin County Corrections Center in Bay Minette on Monday.
