MAGNOLIA SPRINGS, Alabama — A woman is being charged with murder and abuse of a corpse after a dead body, identified as her boyfriend, was found over the weekend in a wooded area south of Magnolia Springs.
The body found Sunday off of County Road 49 in the Magnolia Springs area has been identified as 48-year-old Miles Dean Sprague. BCSO investigators say Sprague’s death was the result of a domestic-related incident the previous evening in which he was stabbed in the head and neck area in a travel trailer he occupied with his girlfriend, 42-year-old Willow Jolie Hoefling at the Magnolia Springs Hideaway Campground.
Officials say his body was then moved via vehicle to the wooded area, located approximately a quarter-mile from the travel trailer and discarded.
Baldwin County Sheriff’s Deputies received a complaint the next day. Investigators and Crime Scene personnel responded to the scene and began their investigation of the incident.
Hoefling was charged with murder and abuse of a corpse in connection with the incident. She is being held without bond at the Baldwin County Corrections Center in Bay Minette.
