BMPD officer terminated following domestic violence arrest

BAY MINETTE, Alabama — A Bay Minette police officer has been terminated after he was arrested on domestic violence charges on Friday.

According to a BMPD release, Cpl. Charles Tingler with the Bay Minette Police Department was arrested on third degree domestic violence charges on Friday after the Bay Minette Police and the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office responded to a domestic disturbance call at approximately 10:03 a.m. at Tingler’s residence.

Tingler was a seven-year veteran of the BMPD, according to the release. No further details were released.

Tingler was booked Friday afternoon into the Baldwin County Corrections Facility. According to jail records, he was released Saturday morning on a $2,500 bond.
