ROBERTSDALE, Alabama — With the November elections fast approaching, Christians in Baldwin County are being asked to answer an urgent call to prayer.
“Baldwin Prays: Lord, Heal Our Land!” will include a pair of events, one to be held from 10:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 26 at the Daphne Civic Center, 2603 U.S. 98, and the other from 5 to 6:30 p.m. the same day at the Baldwin County Coliseum, 19477 Fairground Road, Robertsdale.
“This is a solemn assembly of intercessory prayer for our nation,” according to a flyer issued by the group, “called by collective pastors across our county.”
According to the website, baldwinprays.com, a group of pastors in Baldwin County, consisting of J.P. Wilson of Summit Church of Foley, John Schell of Harvest Church of Summerdale, Judd Sessions of Foley Assembly of God, Jeff Copeland of FBC Robertsdale, Rife Stewart of Destiny Church, and Andrew Mullek of Central Community Church, among others has been meeting for prayer and encouragement since 2016.
According to the website, baldwinprays.com, the mission of the group is “intercession for Baldwin County, or state and our nation. We intercede for our leaders, community, churches, businesses and families.”
“Our pastors prayer group has welcomed pastors and ministry leaders across denominational lines to come together several times monthly for fellowship and prayer.”
The group’s vision is to create a regional prayer movement which transcends denominations, race and culture, according to the site. The partnership also includes Hispanic Ministry International and Morning Start Missionary Baptist in Foley, Freedom Now Church in Elberta, Genesis Church of Gulf Shores/Orange Beach, Faith Fellowship, Family Harvest Church, and the Assembly of God Church in Robertsdale. The site also invites parachurch ministries and businesses to partner with the group and includes a “Declaration of Prayer,” written by Mark A. Parsons.
