Foley woman indicted for murder in death of husband

FOLEY, Alabama — A Foley woman has been indicted on murder charges in connection with the shooting death of her husband in July of last year.

Linda B. Doyle, 66, of Foley was arrested at approximately 11 a.m. Tuesday, according to a release issued Wednesday by Foley Police Chief Thurston Bullock.

According to reports, 71-year-old James Doyle was pronounced dead at the scene and his wife, Linda Doyle, then 65, was flown to University Hospital in Mobile to be treated for stab wounds after officers responded to a 911 call shortly after 10 p.m. on July 30, 2019 in the River Trace subdivision of Foley.

According to Wednesday’s release, following a thorough investigation by Foley PD, the case was brought before a Baldwin County Grand Jury earlier this month and Linda Doyle was indicted on murder charges. She was taken into custody Tuesday morning without further incident at her residence, listed in jail records as being on Colorado Court in Foley.

According to online records, Linda Doyle was booked into the Baldwin County Corrections Center at around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 24, where she remains on a $100,000 bond.
