Garden Club celebrates Charlotte Zinner Day

ROBERTSDALE, Alabama — A surprise party is always fun and not easy to carry off. The Robertsdale Garden Club and Kevin Zinner were able to do exactly that. On Tuesday, Dec. 11, Charlotte Zinner was truly surprised by members of the Club and her family from Pensacola, Florida, Portland, Oregon, and various cities in Alabama to celebrate “Charlotte Zinner Day.”

Robertsdale Mayor Charles Murphy presented Zinner with a plaque proclaiming Dec. 11, 2018 as “Charlotte Zinner Day.” The plaque set forth the many accomplishments she has attained during her life.

It is no small matter that Zinner has been a member of the Club over 46 years, served as president for three terms, six years, and was secretary/treasurer for many years. She also participated in the Baldwin County Fair flower show for many years, taking away the “Best of Show” ribbon multiple years. She owned her own real estate company for many years.

Zinner was given a $50 award and a beautiful corsage to honor her on her day.

A Christmas brunch was organized by members Sandra Busby and Cyndi Gisczinski with all tables decorated in a Christmas theme including a Christmas cactus at each table. Member Linda Farrell gave the blessing. Various door prizes were handed out to attendees. A wonderful time was had by all.
