Gulf Shores Fire Rescue hosted “Gulf Shores Goes Pink” Oct. 1. This event was organized by the South Baldwin Women’s club and raises money in honor of breast cancer awareness month. All donations are made to the Guardians of the Ribbon Lower Alabama Chapter.

Residents enjoyed an evening at the fire station raising money, signing the pink fire truck and enjoying dinner grilled by the Gulf Shores Fire Department.

During the Dolphins football game Oct. 4 Michelle Russ, who “fought like a girl” beating breast cancer was honored and presented with a pink football.
