Sara Lee Cummings Booth

Born Oct. 3, 1942, Sara Lee Cummings Booth passed away at her home in Daphne, Friday, March 24, 2017.

A lifelong resident of the Eastern Shore, she was a champion of health and fitness in the area and beyond, having finished five marathons across the country.

An avid environmentalist and supporter of human rights, she believed in saving the planet and protecting those who need it most. She was passionate about empowering women and protecting and promoting women's rights.

Her adventurous spirit took her around the world, bungee jumping the highest in the world in South Africa, rafting the Grand Canyon, sailing the Caribbean, traveling the world solo with a backpack as well as with her family.

A music lover and clarinetist, she attended Auburn University on a music scholarship. Later she completed her master's degree in gerontology at the University of South Alabama.

The most graceful, authentic, thoughtful and loving Mama and YaeYae, she is survived by the loves of her life, Stacy Brandon Booth of Lake Oswego, Oregon, Justin Stewart Booth of Redondo Beach, California and Erin Lee Booth of Denver, Colorado; and her grandchildren, Brodae Stewart, Aengus Erin, Sabel Afton and Remy Meteghan.

She is also survived by her siblings, Alan Cummings of Tallahassee, Florida, John Cummings of Houston, Texas and Deborah Lemon of Lake Charles, Louisiana.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Sara's name to Ovarian Cancer Research Fund Alliance.
