Silverhill student crowned Little Miss Strawberry

LOXLEY, Alabama — The Baldwin County Strawberry Festival held the 30th Annual Little Miss Strawberry Pageant Saturday, March 11 at the Loxley Civic Center.

The pageant is open to all second grade girls in Baldwin County. Fifty girls participated, representing both public and private schools.

The pageant emcee was Candance Murphy, a Fox 10 News Reporter. Entertainment was provided by the 2011 Little Miss Strawberry Queen, Melissa Mercer, the 2017 Distinguished Young Woman of Baldwin County, Ashlynn Fuqua, and dancers from KB Danz.

The Dogwood Trail Maids assisted in presenting the awards. The reigning 2016 Queen, Rylee Ann Smith, crowned Addison Elizabeth Kucera, who attends Silverhill Elementary School, Little Miss Strawberry Queen for 2017. Runner-up was Adalynn Judith Lyles who attends Elsanor Elementary School.

Other members of the queen’s court are: Patricia Coleman, Mary Elliott Griffin, Kylee Grace Pickering, Brelynn Aniyah Ravannack and Halle Kathryn Shiver. Spirit winners were Kimber Faith Alford, Railey Nicole Black, Anna Britten Stejskal and Grace Ruth Thorpe.

The queen and her court will be presiding over the Baldwin County Strawberry Festival held April 8 and 9 at the Loxley Municipal Park. All proceeds from these events go to benefit Loxley Elementary School and the ARC of Baldwin County.
