Local reality series guaranteed a second season by INSP

INDIAN LAND, South Carolina — Even before the first episode of The Cowboy Way: Alabama hits the airwaves; INSP has ordered a second season.
“During post production it became clear to everyone that we’ve got a great show on our hands,” Doug Butts, INSP’s senior vice president of programming, said in a press release issued Tuesday by the network. “These cowboys are the real deal: down-to-earth, likeable and very entertaining. They are a band of brothers, and audiences will love them.”
The first nine episodes of the series are set to air beginning Aug.10. The series will air a new episode every Thursday beginning at 7 p.m. (CT). The Cowboy Way: Alabama follows the adventures of three modern-day cowboys, including Robertsdale’s Cody Harris, along with fellow ranchers Bubba Thompson and Chris “Booger” Brown.
“We’ve been doing a lot of filming and we’re hoping that we are going to be a part of the network for years to come,” said Harris in a phone interview from December.
According to the release, the series follows the three cowboys as they build their business in south Alabama herding cattle, breaking horses and tilling fields.

“The Old West meets the Deep South with these buddies who live by a Cowboy Code that is as important to them today as it was to those who first tamed the Old West,” according to the release. “They work hard, play hard and depend on each other. They love their families and the rugged life they’ve chosen. Their days may not be easy, but these three friends wouldn’t have it any other way.”
The series is produced for INSP by Glassman Media. Andrew Glassman is the executive producer.
INSP is available nationwide to more than 81 million households via Dish Network (channel 259), DirecTV (channel 364), Verizon FiOS (channel 286), AT&T U-verse (channel 564) and more than 2,800 cable systems.
Glassman Media is an independent Los Angeles-based international television production company whose credits include NBC’s current hit series The Wall, produced in partnership with Lebron James and his production company Spring Hill Entertainment; ABC’s upcoming revival of Battle of the Network Stars, CMT’s record-setting series Sweet Home Alabama; NBC’s hit dating series Average Joe; the critically-acclaimed Three Wishes (NBC), which was named the “most family friendly show on broadcast television.” Adaptations of Glassman Media original formats have been done in territories around the world.

The series, which is the first reality series to air on the network, was filmed primarily in Robertsdale and Geneva, Alabama, Harris said in the earlier interview.
Harris, fellow SHA alum Thompson and Brown formed the Faith Cattle Company in 2013. A reality show, “Dukes of Cattle” was made from that venture and the new series, produced by the same company that produced Sweet Home and Southern Nights, continues to follow their exploits. A pilot episode aired on the network twice last July.
