Thomas Phillips Hart, 71, of Orange Beach, passed away Saturday, Feb. 17, 2018.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Janis Hart; son, Brian Hart, daughter-in-law, Kathleen Hart, granddaughter, Haley Hart, grandson, William Hart, all of Spanish Fort; son, Michael Hart, daughter-in-law, Kaylin Hart, grandson, Preston Hart, all of Daphne; two brothers, Dr. W. Dayton Hart Jr. of Foley and Charles Edgar Hart of Sarasota, Florida; sister, Carolyn Hart Haller of Saint Mary, Georgia; and many other family members and friends.

Thomas was the son of the late Rev. William Dayton Hart and Eugenia Hopkins Hart.

Thomas was a Rhodes College graduate and a graduate of the University of Alabama School of Law. After graduating law school, Thomas was the corporate counsel for Teledyne Continental Motors for 30 years before retiring in 2003.

For the past 15 years, Thomas has enjoyed his retirement at the beach, traveling and spending time with his grandchildren.

A celebration of Thomas' life will be held at 5:30 Friday, Feb. 23, 2018 at Magnolia Hall, 25689 Canal Road, Orange Beach, Alabama 36561.

The family will receive friends from 4:30 to 5:30.
