2017 state champion Alivia Busch signs with ULM

Toros thrower led team to back-to-back section titles

SPANISH FORT, Ala. — Spanish Fort High’s Alivia Busch signed with the University of Louisiana at Monroe on a track scholarship.

Pam Swan, SFHS head track and field coach last year, said Busch is a quiet but extremely effective leader on the track as well as on the basketball court.

“Her drive and work ethic was contagious and resulted not only in a state title, but two new school records,” Swan said. “She led the girls team to a historic two years in a row Sectional championship and an all-time high, fourth place finish at state.”

Last year Busch won the 6A State title in the Discus and finished third in the shot-put.

“Spanish Fort is proud of her accomplishments,” Swan added. “And wish her all the best as a ULM Warhawk.”
