ROBERTSDALE, Alabama — The Central Baldwin Chamber of Commerce invites you to look to the future at its 42nd annual banquet Thursday, Jan. 18 at the Baldwin County Coliseum in Robertsdale.

“2017 was a great year for the Chamber and we’re looking to make it even better in 2018,” said Chamber Director of Operations Gail Quezada. “This is just a great opportunity for our members to enjoy some good food and spend time together. It’s an opportunity to celebrate our accomplishments and look forward to the future.”

“A Vision For the Future” is the theme for this year’s event, which will again be presented by Baldwin EMC. This is an upscale evening with a reception and dinner with an estimated attendance of 400.

Reservation deadline for table seating is Thursday, Jan. 11. Individual and couples tickets may still be available at the door. Check for availability. Tickets are $40 per person, $75 per couple or $300 for a table of eight.

The event kicks off with social hour at 5 p.m., featuring a silent auction, music, hors d’oeuvres and adult beverages. Dinner will be served at 6:30, catered this year by L.A. Barbeque and Catering of Summerdale with the program set to begin at 7 p.m.

“We are so excited to have L.A. Barbeque back handling the catering for our event,” Quezada said. “They always do such a great job for us when called upon for this and other events. We’re also excited to be expanding our awards program this year to feature some additional awards.”

Awards will be presented for the “Business of the Year,” given to a business in each of the four municipalities served by the chamber: Loxley, Robertsdale, Silverhill and Summerdale; along with the “Man of the Year” and “Woman of the Year” awards. The final award will be given for “Chamber Volunteer of the Year.”

During the evening the 2017 Chairman of the Board Jonathan Kitchens of Furniture City/Cloud 9 will pass the gavel to 2018 Chairman Jeff Plato of Flash Courier & Delivery LLC. Past president Tim Hobbs of Baldwin EMC will also be honored as an outgoing member of the Board and Sandy Folan of Habitat for Humanity will be introduced as the incoming president for 2019.

The chamber will also acknowledge the incoming executive board and board of directors for 2018 and honor and acknowledge outgoing board members.

Additional sponsors for this year’s event are: Diamond sponsors: Coastal Alabama Community College, South Baldwin Regional Medical Center; Gold sponsors: Baldwin County Sewer Service, Riviera Utilities, Power Productions, Coca-Cola Bottling, Budweiser Busch Distributing; Silver sponsors: Johnson, Slaughter, Driver, & Northcutt, Hamm Holdings, Baldwin County Cattle & Fair; Bronze sponsors: Gruenloh & Associates, Mack Funeral Home, Citizens’ Bank, Piggly Wiggly, Robertsdale Dental Care.
