ROBERTSDALE — The City of Robertsdale approved deeds at its meeting on Monday, Nov. 5 on property along the old railroad right of way.

According to information presented at the council meeting on Monday, property used for the Louisville & Nashville Railroad/CSX Transportation were sold to the city of Foley in 1985.

The city of Foley then sold the property to the city of Robertsdale in 1993, but it was recently discovered that there are three parcels of land, which run along Wilters Street, East Chicago Street and Silverhill Avenue, that run adjacent to the property that were not included with the property.

After discussion between the two cities, the city of Foley approved a request from the city of Robertsdale in September of 2018 to acquire the three parcels.

In other business Nov. 5, the council:

•Met with Monica Hinton Howard regarding the Robertsdale Animal Care and Control Program. Howard was asked to meet with Robertsdale Mayor Charles Murphy and Police Chief Brad Kendrick before bringing the matter back to the council at a later date.
