City of Foley debuts new event train

Posted

On Tuesday, June 19, the City of Foley officially debuted the new event train in Heritage Park. The new train has been in the works for a few years, and now it has arrived and began taking children and adults on rides early Tuesday morning. A collaborative effort was put forth from the Caboose Club and city officials to make the train a reality. The previous train will be kept as a backup, in case the newer model is being maintenance or during large events. The new train is able to hold more weight than the last train, offering more rides at once, as well as being handicap accessible so more people can enjoy a trip around Heritage Park. Free train rides are offered to the public on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., weather permitting.
