At the Feb. 19 Foley council, Mayor John Koniar proclaimed the week of March 4 – 10 as Dental Assistants Recognition Week and urged citizens to recognize and support the vital service provided by dental assistants for the benefit of all citizens. Koniar read from the proclamation that: “The practice of modern dentistry at the exacting standards we now enjoy would be impossible without the clinical and administrative duties performed daily in the dentist office. These multi-skilled professionals help create a professional and comforting atmosphere for patients by offering them guidance and support.” Present at the council to accept the proclamation was Nettie Norphleet.
