Clays for A’s takes aim at benefitting education in Baldwin County

ROBERTSDALE, Alabama — Take aim at benefitting education in Baldwin County by participating in the annual Clays for A’s benefit, which is set for Friday, March 27 at Bushy Creek Clays in Perdido.
This fourth annual event is a project of Leadership Baldwin County and will be presented by Wind Creek Hospitality. It is a benefit for Baldwin County’s seven Education Foundations, the North Baldwin Coalition for Excellence in Education, the Central Baldwin Education Foundation, the Spanish Fort Enrichment Foundation, SEEDS of Daphne, the Fairhope Educational Enrichment Foundation (FEEF), the South Baldwin Chamber Foundation and the Coastal Baldwin Educational Enrichment Foundation.
“Our team is excited to participate in this project,” said Gail Quezada, president/CEO with the Central Baldwin Chamber of Commerce, on behalf of Leadership Baldwin County Class of 2020.
Through participation and sponsorships, the Leadership Baldwin County Class of 2019 raised a total of $18,200 and presented a check for $2,600 to each of the seven Educational Foundations in Baldwin County.
In addition to Quezada, members of the Leadership Baldwin Class of 2020 are Rustee Karolyi with the City of Robertsdale; Luke Chapman, M&M Bank; Audra Warren, Coastal Alabama Community College; Nancy Grace, Century Bank; Regis Ardis, Daphne Police Department; Marlee Bailey, North Baldwin Chamber; Gia Long, Riviera Utilities; and Clint Flowers, National Land.

“Our goal for this year is to exceed what the Leadership Baldwin Class of 2019 did last year,” Quezada said.
Men and women are invited to participate in the event on March 27. Four-person teams can register at a cost of $125 per person. Individuals can also purchase four mulligans for the five-stand event at a cost of $15. Golf cart rental for teams is also available for $35. All shooters must bring their own shotgun and 110 shells. Eye and ear protection is required.
Registration begins at 11:30 a.m. on the day of the event. Lunch will be provided beginning at noon with a shotgun start beginning at 1 p.m.
Awards and refreshments will follow at the end of competition with award handed out on three levels.
You can also purchase chances to win a Franchi Affinity 3 12-guage, 26-inch semi-automatic, Benelli Line shotgun. Tickets are $20 each or six for $100.
Sponsorships for the event are also available. Deadline for sponsorships is Feb. 27. Sponsorship levels include:
Platinum sponsors, $2,500: Includes four shooter fees, company name on banner at venue entrance, scorecards and shooting station.
Lunch sponsors, $1,500: Includes company name on banner as “Lunch provided by” and logo on scorecard.
Gold sponsors, $1,000: Includes two shooter fees, company name on scorecards and banner.
Silver sponsors, $500: Includes two shooter fees and company name on scorecards.
On-Course Beverage Station sponsors, $300: Includes company name on “Beverage Station Provided by” banner.
Station sponsor, $125: Includes company name on shooting station.

Leadership Baldwin County was established in 1989 by the University of South Alabama Baldwin County and Baldwin County United. Both USABC and BCU continue to sponsor the program and members from both organizations are represented on an administrative steering committee.
