The Copper Kettle TeaBar transformed into Hogwarts on Saturday, Oct. 27, and welcomed witches and wizards new and old for their annual Harry Potter Tea, a fan favorite. The evening began by crossing through Platform 9 and ¾ and meeting Professors Trelawney and Umbridge, who led students to the Sorting Hat to be divided into houses (I proudly became a member of Ravenclaw.) Guests were greeted by house ghosts, professors, and Dumbledore himself, and were given the opportunity to participate in a Harry Potter themed scavenger hunt, play some Muggle Quidditch, make potions or craft wands. Live entertainment accompanied a homemade meal, while a sock-donation station was set up courtesy of S.P.E.W. in their efforts to free the house-elves. Trivia and costume contests were held later in the evening, and at the end of the semester Ravenclaw took home the House Cup with the most points earned through trivia, the scavenger hunt, and Quidditch.
The Copper Kettle is located at 106 N Chicago St, Foley. Follow them on Facebook to keep up with their daily menus as well as more upcoming events and “special teas.”
