BENEFIT EVENT FOR LOCAL COMMUNITY PROGRAMS AT QUAIL CREEK ON OCT. 4

DAPHNE/FAIRHOPE Ala. - On Oct. 4, the Fairhope and Daphne Lions Club will host their 14th annual golf tournament to help fund local community outreach programs and service activities for the coming year.

Monies raised from the tournament help support the Ecumenical Ministries, Prodisee Pantry, and Alabama Free Clinic. Our Clubs also support Camp Seale Harris for children with diabetes, Camp Rap-A-Hope for children with cancer, Leaders Dogs for the Blind, and countless other organizations that help people in need in Baldwin County.

The Fairhope Lions Club has been active for 57 years. The Club provides an annual college scholarship for Eastern Shore high school seniors, and sponsors local students attending the Alabama Lions High School Annual Leadership Forum.  Last year the Fairhope Club also provided eye exams and glasses for needy recipients in Baldwin County through partnerships with Ecumenical Ministries, Alabama Free Clinic, and Walmart.  Additionally, the Club collected over 500 pairs of used glasses for refurbishing and distribution to those in need.

Funding for all these activities comes from the golf tournament that will be held on October 4th at Quail Creek Golf Course in Fairhope. It’s a Scramble format that costs $100 per player, ($150.00 for Player and Spouse), and includes golf, lunch, drinks, cash awards, a Putting Contest, and Silent Auction.  A free 2020 Chevrolet Equinox, provided by Terry Thompson Chevrolet, and a $10,000 Beaches/Sandals Vacation will be offered for holes-in-one on two separate Par 3’s.

Registration and Lunch is at Noon, followed by a Shotgun start at 1 p.m. Golfers can register by calling Quail Creek Golf Course at 251-990-0240, or online at Fairhopelionsclub.com.
