Elizabeth "Libby" Driskell Opry
Oct. 25, 1925 - March 3, 3018
Libby (as she was fondly called by all who knew her) was 92 at the time of her death. A native of Loxley, Alabama and a resident of Miflin for the past 30 years, she passed away peacefully after a long and eventful life on March 3, 2018.
Libby was born Oct. 25, 1925 to Ada and Oris Driskell, the youngest of seven brothers and sisters, and attended Loxley and Robertsdale schools.
She was a member of Saint Bartholomew Parish for many years, an avid Jimmy Buffett fan, loved gardening and baking lemon pies from lemons off her backyard lemon tree.
Libby was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Dabney J. Opry.
She is survived by her son, Michael (Lori) Gurney; grandsons, Jesse and Jeffery Hansford, all of Pensacola, Florida; nieces, Barbara Pellegringo of Mobile, Alabama and Diane Domroski of Summerdale, Alabama, Lynn Morton of Chillicothe, Ohio; and other great-nieces and nephews.
Libby was laid to rest in a private service.
