FOLEY – The City of Foley and the South Baldwin Chamber of Commerce joined forces to welcome Snowbirds to lower Alabama on Tuesday, Jan. 9, with the 8th Annual Foley Snowbird Coffee.

The coffee was held at the Foley Civic Center from 9 a.m. to noon, and winter visitors were welcomed with hot coffee, doughnuts, and a wealth of information about the area. Local businesses, centers, city officials, and fire and law enforcement were present to introduce themselves to guests and to hand out information packets as well as coupons and offers.

The event had a Fun in the Fifties theme, with decorations and music to go along with the event.

Also offered was a downtown treasure hunt, Find it in Foley. The treasure hunt was created to lead visitors to businesses they may not have visited otherwise, and to learn just how much downtown Foley has to offer. Winter visitors were able to answer the questions on the treasure hunt before returning it, along with their information, to the Foley Welcome Center, where winners were selected at random. Prizes included two Amazon Fire HD 10 tablets, gift certificates, gift baskets, and other Foley treasures.

Over 600 winter visitors came out to enjoy the day, meet the locals, and learn about businesses and attractions in Foley.
