Foley Sports Tourism Complex is ready thanks to Staley

FOLEY – Foley Sports Tourism Complex Executive Director Don Staley has taken on the role of President and CEO of Tuscaloosa Tourism and Sports, but he has left a strong legacy behind. In his three years at the complex Staley set a foundation of successful events, and it is one the City of Foley will continue to build upon moving forward.

While Staley looks toward the future, he said he is proud of the work he’s done in Foley. “It’s been an honor and a privilege to help spearhead the progress of this incredible complex for the past 3 years, but it’s time for a change,” Staley said.

Staley isn’t the only one looking toward the future. Foley Mayor, John Koniar, said the entire city wishes Staley well in his new endeavors and sees this as an opportunity to underscore the city’s commitment to increasing its economic footprint through sports tourism.

“Don Staley helped the Foley Sports Tourism Complex become what it is today,” Koniar said. “We plan to continue to build on this foundation. The City of Foley is an amazing place and we want to continue to share it with our sports tourism visitors.”

FSTC will remain committed to the events scheduled, as the staff fully understands what it takes to make this venture a success. The City of Foley is currently working on a transitional plan with Staley and his team, who will work towards the common goal of fulfilling the potential of FSTC.
