FOLEY – The Foley Woman’s Club held its monthly meeting on Monday, Feb. 4, when it held an annual contest to choose the winning baskets created by the members for the upcoming Mad Hatters’ Event. Each year, members put together silent auction and raffle items that will be awarded on the day of the event. These creations range from baskets filled with treats, gardening items, and dishware to a homemade display case of jewelry.
This years’ winners, pictured here left to right, are Beverly McNair and Sue Rich.
Also at the club’s February meeting were two rounds of BINGO, with winners from each round taking home prizes.
The Annual Mad Hatters’ Fundraiser Event is approaching fast and will take place on March 14th at the Foley Civic Center (doors open at 10 a.m.). The theme this year is “In the Garden,” and attendees are encouraged to come dressed up in some of their favorite costumes, both inspired by Alice in Wonderland, the theme, or their own imagination.
Tickets are being sold for $30 per person and include a catered lunch from LA Barbeque as well as a long list of entertainment. If you are interested in attending, contact Chris Anglin at 251-943-3443 or ctl10002829@centurylink.net, or Kelly Barrett at 251-609-9778 or foleywomansclub@gmail.com for tickets. One-hundred percent of the profits will go to women and children services in Baldwin County.
