Glenda "Katherine" Allen, 72, of Gulf Shores, Alabama, formerly of Kewanee, Illinois, died Friday, May 17, 2019.

She was born Feb. 15, 1947 in Kewanee, Illinois, the daughter of Sheldon E. and Margret Berniece (Thompson) Mundy.

She married Randall C. Allen on April 13, 1991 and they have been together for 34 years.

Katherine graduated from Black Hawk East in Kewanee and from Western Illinois University in Macomb. She lived in Kewanee most of her life and had worked for Peoples National Bank for over 36 years.

Following her first bout with breast cancer in 2002-03, she and her husband moved to Gulf Shores, Alabama.

She was currently a member of Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church in Gulf Shores, and was a former member of Saint John Paul II Parish in Kewanee. She enjoyed sewing and doing various art projects.

Survivors include her husband of Gulf Shores, Alabama; her mother of Duvall, Washington; her siblings, Mary (Robert) Phelps of Swansea, Illinois, Teresa (Bill) Swedman of Duvall, Washington, Jimmy (Flori) Mundy of Marble Falls, Texas and Charles (Dorothy) Mundy of Bloomington, Illinois; nieces and nephews, Diane (Mike) Dwyer, Paula (John) Gingrich, Erin (Tom) Flynn, Baird (Allison) Swedman, Josh, Nathan and Sean Mundy and Eli and Zoe Mundy; and great-nieces and -nephews, Garrett, Colin, Riley, McKenna and Blaine, Meghan, Rachel, Sarah and Hannah, Luke and Ned, Bobby and Amelia.

Katherine was a devoted cat lover for many decades, and also leaves behind her friendly feline, Nicky.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Monday, May 27 at Saint John Paul II Parish in Kewanee, Illinois. Celebrant will be Fr. Johndamaseni Zilimu.

Visitation will be held from 3-5 p.m., Sunday, May 26 at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee, Illinois, with recitation of the rosary at 5 p.m.

Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery in Kewanee, Illinois.
