Keith A. Kanne, age 65, a resident of Silverhill, Alabama, passed away Thursday, Jan. 17, 2019.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Dorothy Kanne; and is survived by his wife, Diane Walker Kanne; daughter, Stephanie (Joseph) Hedden; brother, Kenneth (Kathy) Kanne; and three grandchildren, Drew, Abbie and Isaiah, by whom he was called "Grandpa Keith."

Keith was born in Frederic, Wisconsin in 1953, and moved with his family to Silverhill in 1958. He married his lovely bride, Diane, in 1976, and their daughter, Stephanie, was born in 1979.

His teaching career was spent largely at his alma mater, Robertsdale High School. Loved by students and teachers alike, he became a technology facilitator for Baldwin County Public Schools in 1998, then retired in 2008.

His interests were many and varied, including computers and technology, railroad motorcars, auto racing, photography, travel with family, weather watching and Southern gospel music.

He will be fondly remembered in the community for his renditions of "The Star-Spangled Banner" and "God Bless the USA."

His devotion to his church was well-known, and he would have named his family his greatest accomplishment. His praise of his wife's care and faithfulness was high, his delight in his daughter never-ending, and his joy in his grand-twins famous.

When his grandson, Isaiah, joined the family, "GK" celebrated with a "Praise the Lord!" His faith in Jesus Christ remained firm through many trials. His family's comfort is their confidence that he is enjoying his eternal reward.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2019 at 2 p.m. at Silverhill First Baptist Church, with burial in Silverhill Cemetery.

A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 1 until 2 p.m. at the church.
