FOLEY - Do you like getting dressed up in your nicest or wackiest hats, enjoying live music with friends, and participating in a one-of-a-kind hat parade, all while helping local nonprofits? Then get ready for the 2021 Foley Woman’s Club Mad Hatters’ Event!
The annual event, the club’s largest fundraiser of the year, was forced to cancel in 2020 amidst the pandemic. This year, it’s back and better than ever with the theme “World of Books 2.0.” It will take place on Wednesday, May 5 at the Foley Civic Center. Doors will open at 10 a.m. and tickets are $25 per person.
All donations and raffle baskets that were donated prior to the cancellation in 2020 were stored (if applicable) and will be used in this event. The club created a list of all purchased tickets for the 2020 event and will honor all tickets purchased last year.
With your ticket, you’ll be transported to a world of fun. Enjoy a lite lunch, live entertainment provided by Bo Grant, lead singer of The Platters, a silent auction and gift raffles, a $500 Pot of Gold, and a fashion show put on by the club members. Then of course, you don’t want to miss the hat parade and hat contest, where participants have the chance to win in three different categories: “Most Creative Theme,” “Wackiest,” and “Most Glamourous.”
All proceeds from the event go towards helping women and children organizations in Baldwin County. The club missed out on receiving needed donations due to the cancellation last year, and is looking forward to making donations once more to local charities.
To purchase your ticket, contact President Kelly Barrett at 251-609-9778 or Sylvia Womack at 251-955-5294. For further information, email Foley Woman’s Club at foleywomansclub@gmail.com or contact Barrett at 251-609-9778.
