Magnolia Springs’ 4th of July celebration took place on the town streets the morning of Independence Day, beginning with the annual parade that traveled from Woodland to Oak Street and ended at the Magnolia Springs Volunteer Fire Station. The Grand Marshals this year were Elaine and Buster Slay, who have been generous contributors to community activities and services for years. After the parade, the community gathered on the green in front of the fire station to enjoy a hotdog lunch provided by the Magnolia Springs Community Association, Magnolia Springs Fire and Rescue, Jesse’s Restaurant, and the Town of Magnolia Springs. Watermelon was served, and the MedStar Life Flight helicopter made a landing on the lawn for people to view. Activities were set up for the kids, and the community came together to celebrate the holiday.
