Michele T. Hanson, age 51, a native of Pensacola, Florida and a resident of Daphne, Alabama went to be with the Lord on Jan. 6, 2018 at her home surrounded by her loved ones.
Michele worked for the City of Daphne for the last 23 years and was involved in her community. She was a charter member of Apollo's Mystic Ladies and also the Mystic Order of Gators. Her involvement also included the Daphne Optimist Club, Relay for Life and the Out of the Darkness Walk for suicide prevention. Michele loved all things Mardi Gras and was an avid Alabama football fan.
But more than any of this, she was a loving wife and mother, devoted daughter and sister and loyal friend.
Michele was preceded in death by her father, Louis Tarter; grandparents, Lou and Marie Tarter and Lawrence and U.L. Gibson.
Survivors include her devoted husband, Mund Hanson of Daphne, Alabama; daughters, Laura Whalen and Paige Whalen, both of Daphne, Alabama; stepdaughters, Jenny (Brad) Binning of Daphne, Alabama and Katie (Mike) Diegan of Daphne, Alabama; parents, Jerry and Sheila Klein of Spartanburg, South Carolina; sisters, Angie (Frankie) Bryson of Spartanburg, South Carolina, Tracy (Eren) Sullivan of Lynn Haven, Florida, Christy (Mike) Morgan of Pensacola, Florida and Rachael Tarter of Pensacola, Florida; stepmother, Barbaree McCleskey of Pensacola, Florida; stepbrother, Scott Klein of Spartanburg, South Carolina; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and many friends.
Funeral services will be held January 9, 2018 at noon at Coastal Church in Daphne.
Visitation at the church from 10 a.m. until noon.
Interment will follow at Jubilee Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers are Stan Shambo, Mike Clements, Woody Klinner, Dane Brunies, Mike Gorum and Roy Henning.
