Mildred Blackwell-McConnell
Aug. 10, 1923 - March 13, 2018
"Mickey" passed away peacefully at her home at Oyster Bay, Alabama.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Olivia Miller of Bon Secour; siblings, Bernice Miller, Olivia Victor, Marie McCarthy, Betsy Kirkland and Fred Miller; husbands, Cecil Blackwell and Dean McConnell.
Mickey is survived by her children, Lynne (Clyde) Miller, Rick (Sherri) Blackwell, Tracy Blackwell, Bunny (Mickey) Munoz, Shannon (Adrian) Longcrier, RoxAnne (Khashy) Safiran, Walter Blackwell; her 19 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Her heart was in Bon Secour where she was born, attended Swift School and church. She devoted much of her life to community service in Foley which was where she also attended high school.
Mickey and Cecil raised their seven children on the farm at Oak. Her last glorious years were with Dean on Oyster Bay.
Visitation will be held Thursday, March 22, 2018, 6-8 p.m., at St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Bon Secour, with the funeral the next day, Friday, March 23, 2018, 11 a.m., also at the church.
