Millicent “Millie” Lenora Scrushy McGee

Millicent "Millie" Lenora Scrushy McGee, Jan. 4, 1925 - April 16, 2017, (92), Millie peacefully passed away on the day of the resurrection of our Lord, Easter evening.

The daughter of George Marin (Screciu) Scrushy and Margaret Maude Mansel Scrushy and wife of Jason Randall McGee Jr, Millie grew up in South Montgomery County and lived in the city of Montgomery until 2005 when she relocated to Fairhope to be near her daughter and grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her parents, husband and four siblings, Richard T. Scrushy, Gerald M. Scrushy, William R. Scrushy, Mary Olive Scrushy Bruner; she is survived by daughter, Sherree McGee Brush; and three grandchildren, Jeremy Peoples (Heather), Matthew Peoples, Chase Stafford (Amberly); and three great-grandchildren, Braxton, Grady and Briah. She is also survived by brothers, Edward Scrushy, Jack Scrushy; sister, Margaret Rose Scrushy Ford; extended family and friends. And Tamba.

Millie was a devoted member and served as church administrator with The Church of the Holy Comforter in Montgomery for over 30 years and a loyal and dedicated participant at St. John Episcopal Church in Robertsdale after moving to Fairhope.

When health permitted, she enjoyed her membership and leadership role in The Eastern Shore Federated Women.

A loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, her devotion to all family was admired. Her talents and skills in the garden were appreciated and enjoyed by all.

A memorial service will be Monday, April 24, 2017, 3 p.m., at St. John Episcopal Church, Robertsdale, Alabama.
