Pictured here are Magnolia Springs Volunteer Firefighters listening to and participating in hands on instruction from Chip Crooms with Sunbelt Fire.

Recently, Loxley VFD was awarded a Regional FEMA Assistance to Firefighters Grant to replace outdated self-contained breathing apparatuses (SCBA), air bottles, and air mask. The regional grant awarded a total of 84 SCBAs which were split up between three fire departments based off their needs that were submitted in the grant request with Magnolia Springs receiving a total of 27 new SCBAs. The three fire departments met for bid opening and awarded the bid to Sunbelt Fire in Fairhope, AL. Upon delivery of the new SCBAs, Sunbelt Fire provided user training to the departments. Magnolia Springs firefighters are undergoing a couple more weeks of hands on training and completing online training and testing before the packs will be placed in service. The Regional Grant was between Loxley VFD (lead on the grant) Fort Morgan VFD and Magnolia Springs VFD.
