ROBERTSDALE, Alabama — Occupants escaped serious injury Sunday evening after one vehicle caught fire following a collision on Alabama 104 (East Silverhill Avenue) near the Baldwin Beach Express.
The Robertsdale Police Department is conducting an ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash, said RPD Lt. Rex Bishop on Monday. The two-vehicle crash occurred at 6:38 p.m. Sunday on East Silverhill Avenue between Hubbard Road and the Beach Express. Both vehicles were Ford F-150 pick-up trucks.
“It appears that one of the vehicles drifted over the center line, but I can’t say that for sure at this time,” Bishop said. “All of the occupants of the vehicle were able to escape before the vehicle caught fire.”
Volunteers from the Robertsdale Fire Department had to extricate a 17-year-old female from one of the vehicles. She was taken by Medstar Air Care1 to USA Medical Center where she was listed in stable condition, Bishop said. There were no other serious injuries.
