FOLEY – The Gulf Coast‘s newest resort destination kicks off summer in style with exciting new entertainment, activities, and events. Nestled just miles from the sugar-white beaches of Alabama’s Gulf Coast and with an already-established reputation for family fun, OWA (oh-wah) is shifting into high gear for its first full summer season. From daily activities to pop-up live performances throughout the property, OWA is sure to have something for everyone.

It wouldn’t be the start of summer without a Memorial Day Kick-Off. This weekend (May 25-28) will launch OWA’s new “Summer Series” of events and entertainment taking place in both Downtown OWA and The Park at OWA.

Downtown OWA is the shopping and dining epicenter of OWA, is free to access, and open to the public daily at 11am.

With paid admission to The Park at OWA, guests get unlimited access to 16 acres of fun on more than 21 rides, midway games, a brand new splash pad, and lots of activities inside the amusement park. Guests can participate in free, family-based activities every day throughout the summer from May 25 to Aug. 12. Activities are themed such as “Crafty Tuesdays” centered around art activities, “Hula Fridays” centered around a beach party, and everything in between; all geared towards both kids and adults. Every day of the week will feature a different themed activity from 1pm-7pm for Park goers to enjoy.

“Our goal has always been to create a true entertainment destination with shopping, dining, and entertainment throughout the beautiful streets of OWA,” states Kristin Hellmich, OWA Director of Marketing & Public Relations. “In addition to family activities, this summer OWA is proud to offer guests a variety of shows and live performances that will help spice up your daily itinerary for both locals and visitors!”

This summer will feature OWA’s new house band “Cool Vibrations,” which will roam the property entertaining guests with hits from yesterday and today! Inside the amusement park, the Splash Squad will be popping in to help keep everyone cool.

And if that wasn’t enough, OWA is celebrating cool coastal nights with a summer celebration on the banks of Lake OWA. Come cool off and relax while OWA entertains you with the lights, sounds, and energy during GLOWA. GLOWA is a high-energy live performance that incorporates the hijinks of the Power Skippers – an acrobatic stilt team – with singers, dancers, and cool sounds. The party is always free and is held Tuesdays - Sundays at 8:30 pm in Downtown OWA.

Downtown OWA provides new and fun ways to enjoy the expansive property with no admission fee. Its shops and restaurants are open every day at 11 am. The Park at OWA – the gated, 21-ride amusement park – is open daily (May 25-Aug. 12). Park hours vary and can all be found at VisitOWA.com. Specific times for all Summer Series events, activities and performances can also be found on VisitOWA.com. All times and hours listed are subject to change without notice.

While Downtown OWA is open daily, all performances and amusement park operating hours are weather dependent.
