Richard Arp receives Eagle Scout Award

Richard Allan Arp, son of Randy and Beth Arp of Foley, has received his Eagle Scout Award.

Arp is a member of Scout Troop 97 of Magnolia Springs under the leadership of Scoutmaster Brandon Spivey.

He began his scouting career as a Tiger Cub with Cub Scout Pack number 497 in Magnolia Springs where he achieved The Arrow of Light award.

Through the years he has attended many scout camps throughout Alabama and Mississippi. In 2013 he attended the National Jamboree in West Virginia and in 2015 he attended the National Order of the Arrow Conference gathering at Michigan State University.

For his Eagle project, he was invited to partner with the City of Foley to build and install dog waste station receptacles in the Foley Dog Park and along the Rose Trail.

Presently, Arp is a junior at Pensacola Catholic High School where he participates in football and basketball. He serves as a lifeguard at the Snook YMCA in Foley when he in not busy with school. He is an active member of Foley United Methodist Church and participates during summer in the Galilean Beach Services on the beach at the Gulf Shores Pavilion.
