Rodney “Pee Wee” Vance Gunnison

Rodney "Pee Wee" Vance Gunnison, age 72, a resident of Magnolia Springs, Alabama, passed away Thursday, Jan. 9, 2020.

Born in Fairhope, Alabama to Ronald Gunnison Sr. and Ira Belle Clay Gunnison.

He served in the United States Marine Corps as a staff sergeant, and in the Vietnam War as a member of the "1/9 Alpha Walking Dead" where he was awarded Walking Dead Patch, two Purple Hearts and the Bronze Star.

Preceded in death by two of his brothers, Herman "Frog" Gunnison, Ronald "Scubby" Gunnison Jr.; a grandchild, Darcy Dalton; and son-in-law, William "Bill" Dalton.

Rodney is survived by his wife of 40 years, Margaret R. Gunnison; children, Robin (Carmen) Rockstall, Kim Rockstall Dalton; grandchildren, Brock and Hailey Rockstall; brother, John Gunnison; sister, "Sue" Gunnison Davis; and many other relatives and friends.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Margaret Catholic Church, Foley, on Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2020 at 10:30 a.m.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time.

Interment with military honors will follow at St. Margaret Catholic Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Margaret of Scotland Church, Foley, Alabama or to St. Michael Catholic High School in Fairhope, Alabama.
