FOLEY - The South Baldwin Chamber celebrated another new business opening in Foley with a ribbon cutting celebration: Magnolia Dance Company is now accepting new students in Foley. A family owned and operated dance studio, Magnolia Dance Company is designed to inspire their young students from day one.

“We want to create a positive dance experience, fun and exciting; we are committed to excellence,” shared owner and instructor Jami-Marie Owen.

Whether a beginner or experienced dancer, Magnolia Dance Company offers ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary and hip hop classes for ages 2-18. “Dance is able to teach kids coordination and gross motor skills while fostering imagination, problem solving and listening skills,” said Owen.

Owen is no stranger to dance, and has been dancing for twenty three years and even spent some time as one of the sweethearts of New Orleans, cheering on the Saints as a cheerleader. She finds teaching, her lifelong skill, extremely rewarding, especially when a student has been working to acquire a new skill and finally gets it down.

“The look on their face is priceless, their confidence grows, and in that moment you are able to share in their excitement because all of the hard work has finally paid off,” says Owen.
