BROMLEY -- A Spanish Fort man has been arrested on theft of property charges in connection with the theft of a horse in the Bromley community.
Cornelius Pruitt, 22, of Spanish Fort, was charged with theft of property second degree. He was released from the Baldwin County Corrections Facility on a $5,000 bond.
On Sunday, April 22, Baldwin County Sheriff Deputies responded to a complaint on Hooks Loop. The complainant stated that his 5-year-old black Tennessee Walker mare, named London, was taken from his pasture.
On Monday, April 23 a witness to the theft identified Pruitt as a suspect in the theft. A check of Pruitt’s property was conducted, the horse was located and recovered. Pruitt was not located at the residence but contact was made with his parents who reside on the same property.
On April 24, Pruitt was interviewed at the Bay Minette deputy’s office and admitted to taking the horse from the victim’s property. As a result, Pruitt was arrested and charged. The horse was reunited with his owner.
