The Build a Better World Summer Reading Program at the Summerdale Public Library received a visit from some wild guests on June 13th. Rick Rakestraw introduced the children to friends both furry and scaly, as the library was treated to a show filled with monkeys, spiked lizards, and snakes. Rakestraw travels to libraries all over to introduce children to the animals up close and personal. He also educates the children about the animals he has rescued, the environment, and takes time to answer any questions the children have in between introducing the animals. The Summerdale Reading Program takes place on Tuesday mornings, and the Program Grand Finale will be held on June 27th.
