GULF SHORES AND ORANGE BEACH, Ala. -- Is fast-paced competition more your speed when it comes to events? There is plenty of that in Gulf Shores and Orange Beach. The 2020 spring schedules are packed with sports events, however, some of the most exciting include the

2020 Coastal Alabama Sun Chiefs Classic Softball Tournament

(SEE RELATED LINK BELOW) in mid-February at the Gulf Shores Sportsplex. This exciting, fastpitch collegiate softball tournament draws a crowd every year, stoking a passion for softball in the youth and all ages.

Local and regional families look forward to the Gulf Coast Classic Baseball Tournament I and II and the Gulf Coast Classic Softball Tournament I-III as well as the Pleasure Island Showdown Softball Tournament happening in March of 2020.

The first weekend of May presents the highly anticipated National Collegiate Beach Volleyball Championship (NCAA) (SEE RELATED LINK BELOW).

This sizzling and sandy event is featured at the newly renovated Gulf Place, the main public beach in Gulf Shores. Beach volleyball is the fastest-growing NCAA sport, and this esteemed tournament, has schools from across the nation sending their best athletes to compete for the title.

BOATING AND FISHING

The Wharf on the Intracoastal Waterway will be home to The Wharf Boat and Yacht Show the last full weekend in March. Comprised of an amphitheater, Ferris wheel, ziplines, shopping, dining, vacation rentals, a large marina and more, you may not be surprised to learn tickets to this three-day event are inexpensive and get you a firsthand look at top-of-the-line yachts, boats and marine equipment.

No matter where you choose to join us this spring, we’re confident you won’t run out of fun on the Alabama Gulf Coast.
