Thomas Ferdinand Jorden, 87, of Orange Beach, ended his earthly journey on May 18, 2018.

Thomas was born in 1930 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Ferdinand and Margaret Jorden. He married Elaine Mary on June 23, 1956 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Tom was a veteran of the U.S. Army stationed in Newfoundland during the Korean Conflict. After returning home from the service, he spent 37 years with U.S. Steel where he worked as a transportation engineer, spending time in Pittsburgh, Kansas City, Houston and Birmingham.

Tom was a founding member of The Knights of Columbus Council 13339. He attended St. Thomas by the Sea Catholic Church and volunteered with many of their ministries.

Tom enjoyed tennis, biking, and most recently, attending Silver Sneakers with his wife Elaine.

Tom's favorite time, however, was time spent with his family and extended family. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be greatly missed.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Jesse Gibson; and brother, Charles Jorden.

Tom is survived by his wife, Elaine; brother, Dave Jorden; six children, Tom and wife Debbie, Mary Reznicek and husband Tom, Glenn and wife Carolyn, James and wife Bonnie, Gail Trondle and husband John, Chris and wife Stacy; and 10 special grandchildren and their spouses.

Celebration of life will be held at St. Thomas by the Sea Catholic Church on Wednesday, May 23, at 10:30 a.m. with Fr. Jim Dane officiating.

Private family interment will be at a later time.
